形態特徵

• Rhizome short, stout. Culms loosely tufted, 80-200 cm tall, 3-5 mm thick, trigonous.
• Leaves several, basal and subbasal, 10-13 mm wide; sheaths elongated, reddish brown.
• Inflorescence with 8 to 10 partial panicles at 5 or 6 nodes, ca. 20 cm long. Partial panicles generally binate, oblong, 5-15 cm long, branched below. Bracts leafy, lower ones equalling to surpassing inflorescence, sheathing at base. Spikes androgynous, ovate to oblong, 3-6 mm long, pistillate and staminate parts ca. equal in length.
• Pistillate glumes ovate, acute at apex, 1.5-2 mm long, pale with red-brown flecks, hispid, costa excurrent in a short hispidulous awn. Utricles ellipsoid to oblong, trigonous, 2.7-3.5 mm long, several-nerved, reddish brown, hispidulous; beak bidentate. Achenes elliptic, trigonous, ca. 1.5 mm long; style hardly thickened at base; stigmas 3.
